The Mission of the Enemy

With all the battles we are facing it’s easy to lose sight of a couple of important facts.

  1. Our enemy is not Democrats or liberals or the Supreme Court or the LGBT alliance.  Our enemy, the sole enemy who matters, is Satan.
  2. Our enemy’s mission is not to drag as many into a sinful lifestyle as he can.  It’s not to make us hire homosexuals.  It’s not to make us marry homosexuals.  It’s not even to destroy the family or the institution of marriage.

Satan’s mission is to get as many people as he can to abandon their faith in Jesus Christ.  When we display hate and fear in the face of his machinations we only make it easier for him.

So how do we stand against sin, how do we stand against compromise and not fall into hate and fear?  It’s tough, isn’t it?  But we must find a way to do it.  Souls are at stake.

About Angus Lewis

My wife and I lived our whole lives in Arkansas until ten years ago. We moved to the Kansas City area in 2011 (a job change). That was the reason for the 'From a Far Country' title. Our children and grandchildren were in Arkansas. Six months ago we sold our house and bought one in Sherwood, Arkansas and my wife moved back down here. Two weeks ago I retired and moved back too. (I'm probably going to try to find something part time to keep me out of trouble.) So maybe the 'From a Far Country' title is not so much of a fit anymore. But I think I'll stick with it. I'm still not home. Not yet. The Bible says we are all strangers and pilgrims here. Our real home is with God and some day we'll be there. We'll be home.
