Hub Cap on Mars

NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO, not to be confused with the rare and mysterious MOD they are always looking for in Lowes) has taken a picture of a strange object on the surface of Mars.  See the above photo.  The full story can be found at space.com.  Speculation is rampant as to what it is.  I, of course, have a list of possibilities nobody else has thought of.

  1. It’s a logo.  A large galactic corporation has bought the naming rights to Mars.  It’s probably a wireless/cable TV/internet provider.  Instead of Mars, the red planet its Mars, the [corporate name goes here] planet.
  2. It’s a no trespassing sign.  That’s a kind of scary, isn’t it?
  3. It is the rare and endangered mince meat pie, a species of pie that is practically extinct on this planet.
  4. It’s a hub cap from a 1957 Desoto FireFlite Sportsman.
  5. It’s a Hatch.  Ask your friends who haven’t gotten over LOST.

Of course NASA has their own ideas as you can read in the article but what do they know?

About Angus Lewis

My wife and I lived our whole lives in Arkansas until ten years ago. We moved to the Kansas City area in 2011 (a job change). That was the reason for the 'From a Far Country' title. Our children and grandchildren were in Arkansas. Six months ago we sold our house and bought one in Sherwood, Arkansas and my wife moved back down here. Two weeks ago I retired and moved back too. (I'm probably going to try to find something part time to keep me out of trouble.) So maybe the 'From a Far Country' title is not so much of a fit anymore. But I think I'll stick with it. I'm still not home. Not yet. The Bible says we are all strangers and pilgrims here. Our real home is with God and some day we'll be there. We'll be home.
